Really?

So after waiting oh I don't know 30-45 mins for a PATH train. They decide to suspend service. Nice! Real Nice! So now I have to make my way to WTC station. I go to the L platform so I take that train to A/C/E to get to WTC and guess what?!?

15 minute delays....I seriously could've been home back in bed nursing my illnesses and watching a Law and Order Marathon.

But no..I have to be an adult and pay my bills so I keep trucking with this lady following me the entire way.

"Subject to delays"

Don't you just hate those words when you're waiting for the train. So here I stand on the PATH platform waiting for one of the two trains that stop at this station.

And I here the announcement that the Hoboken to 33rd in both directions and JSQ and 33rd in both directions are subject to delays up to 10 mins due to a signal problem.
Why not just say all trains?! Those are the only 2 trains that come to this station! Stop toying with my emotions on this hot smelly platform.

Happy Tuesday

Commuter

So I'm leaning against the door -yeah yeah yeah I know your not supposed to but its either lean on the door or next to the man standing on one leg leaning forward like he got that "high" while coughing profusely spitting it in a towel and examining every type of "whatever" is coming out his mouth.
So yeah I'm leaning against the door. And this lady decides to join me. Sure whatever BUT she refuses to stay on her side of the doctor. I keep feeling something on my shoulder. And its her blasted body!!! So I scream "get your hand out my pocket" JUST KIDDING I wanted to though LOL

I mean really its not that crowded and this door is big enough for both of us without you trying to lay on top of me. That's just RUDE!!!

Commuter Nightmare 2 - How commuters act on a stuck train

Scene 1 - this man is bored to death and decides to examine his Memory Card and of course it falls right between my legs. He clearly lost his mind and thought he was going to bend down and pick it up. Uh, Sir, not happening? LOL

Scene 2 - this man reading his WSJ is leaning up against the rails butt practically on my lap BUT the train is crowded so I let him rock.

Scene 3 - now these two ladies get on and his paper is hitting them. She tells him to move it. He tells her to move over. BIG MISTAKE!! They get to arguing about why he should move his paper and she's telling him "this aint your living room move your paper". So he stands his ground (quite impressively I might add lol) even though he is completely out of line.
She says "why should i move I paid to stand here. Your paper didn't I'm not moving if you want me to move, move me"

He says "I couldn't move you if I tried"

BIGGER MISTAKE!!! Now a few other passengers get involved and come to the ladies defense. Now he's arguing with this dude and saying something about his FedEx job. FedEx man says I got two jobs and make more than you so what?!

I'll let you know if a fight breaks out....oh BTW the train is still sitting in the station.

Commuter Nightmare

Around 530 tonight I watched the freakiest storm pass over NJ. I'm talking black clouds and thunder like I've NEVER seen. I knew then my commute back to my homeland (Brooklyn lol) was going to be fun (yeah right).

I managed to make it to the PATH train in one piece. I got off at 14th and headed for the "L" train.

I get to the platform and after sweating out my natural curls (lol) a train finally comes. I manhandle this lady for a seat. She's sitting there all catty cornered (as my nanna would say) and her pocketbook is in the seat just chilling. I let her know that wasn't going to fly LOL

As soon as I plug in my iPod I hear the following "axcuse me lady and gentleman...juyhss due to askdfva a alshda all trains adhghiyvk. I repeat due to sdfoygjd all dhgfjsgfh at adgjjf" (those aren't typos that's actually the way I heard it lol)

I get to 14th street which was the next stop. And its flooded with people. Then we hear "axcuse me lady and gentleman fcjskgfks due ksvgfghy a train on the track hjaffh the last hgagjd is Myrtle". So at this point I'm wondering "aren't trains supposed to be on the tracks?! Ok whatever I have a seat off to Myrtle we go and I better make my 730 appt". We get one more stop and finally we can hear the announcement "there is a TREE on the tracks at my stop Wilson Ave and we have to wait"

Oh joy...stay tuned to Part 2

Commuter Wow

I'm on the train listening to my iPod but I keep hearing some other music. Its rather loud especially if I can hear it over my music.

You won't believe who was on the train with me?!

Radio Raheem!!! You know the guy with the boombox in Do the Right thing. Ok so he didn't have a boombox. Clearly he thought his phone was a boombox and this grown man proceeded to play his music rather loudly sans earphones for all to hear.

Really dude?! You are a little too old for that foolishness. Shame on you

Commuter Battle of the Bootie

As the train approaches everyone sees how crowded it is so people start to get in position. The first "genius" that gets on stands right at the doorway. As I'm walking through the narrow passageway created by the "genius", I feel something rubbing up against my backside.

Its inappropriate to say the least. I mean this lady is just rubbing and pushing her backside on me with no regard for personal space. I mean really lady?!? I can play that game too. And so it began the battle of the backside may the best (biggest) one win

LOL

Commuters Beware School's In

This morning I noticed an abundance of kids on the street all headed toward the train. (I ignored them lol)

I got on a crowded train, annoyed because I was tired lol and it wasn't until this girl slammed her pocketbook aka backpack against my face (that's right my face lol) did I remember that today is the first day of school.

So say hello to crowded trains (more than usual), can't buy a seat, escalated conversations about trivial things, preppy ones, under dressed ones, backpacks in every size....SCHOOL'S IN.

Commuter "Do not lean on the door"

"Do not lean on doors"

We all see the sign but at some point during our commuter travels we have done just that, lean on the doors. Let's face it whoever came up with that slogan clearly never traveled during rush hour on a crowded train with no AC.

So this young lady gets on the train and defies the sign and assumes the leaning position. Only thing is, it might have been helpful if the door was actually closed before she decided to do that. LOL.

Pure comedy watching her jump out her skin as the doors begin to close in on her.

"Commuter Lens"

Have you ever felt invisible on a crowded train? You know when you are standing there holding on to the pole and someone decides to reach over your head and your natural tresses get tangled up in their armpits.

Or maybe you are standing by the door about to exit and someone is trying to knock you out of the way so that they can exit first. Well I've cracked the code, solved the mystery YOU ARE INVISIBLE!! Well not really but to them you are. You see they have on their "Commuter Lens". That's right "Commuter Lens".

With "Commuter Lens" you are able to block out people old, young, pregnant, sick, dying, short and tall. Apparently when you wear "Commuter Lens" its just you and the train. No one else is around. Beautiful, isn't it?

So the next time someone tries to squeeze pass you on a crowded stairway because they want to catch the incoming train, don't push them or yell profanities instead ask them "Hey are those "Commuter Lens"? Where can I get a pair?"

Commuter Blind Date

So I'm on the train and this couple gets on. Its clear that they don't know each other well. And her constantly referring him to as "babe, babe" in a ridiculous 13yr voice is driving me nuts!!!

Then while remembering their first encounter she recalls how he didn't want to buy a RT ticket because, and I quote "you might be ugly" LOL

Then she starts lying to man by saying that he doesn't look a day over 28. HA!! Clearly he's 38/45. Now she starts fishing how old do I look? He says younger. She asks how much? Now he plays delusional and says 25. I almost burst into tears lol

Now someone passes gas on the train smells up the entire car. He jokingly blames her. She was trust, if it was me you wouldn't be able to stay here. You would have to change cars. Yeah that's sweet talk for a date LOL

Commuter snippet

Despite it being TGIF...I was still lagging this morning. I get up get dressed and make it to the train all while sleeping LOL. But then I'm rudely awaken by the smell of hot raw onions. I really don't understand why it smells like this on this car. Its not crowded. Its not hot outside and its crazy early. No need for anyone to have that smell...uuuugggghhhhh

Commuter follies

Picture this:

Two trains arrive at the same time on different platforms and there is only one connecting staircase . Common sense dictates that we both have to share...we know the rules "stay to your right".

So here I am walking up while others are walking down. Please explain why the person behind me thinks that if she stands really close to me while practically stepping on the back of my shoe that I will miraculously be able to make all the other people disappear so that she can get up the stairs faster. I'm not a magician.

Commuter- Too Much, Too Much

There is nothing I appreciate more than a man who smells good. But seriously sir if my eyes are tearing and I can taste your cologne in my mouth I'm thinking its a bit much.

OMG I think I'm going to be sick....geez louise LOL

Commuter warning don't get sick on the PATH train

Last night this man got sick and as he reached for his meds he passed out. Good samaritan passengers went to assist and pulled the emergency brake.

But instead of calling 911 the fearful conductor decides to run the train express to 33rd. Four stops away!!!!

That's just crazy...apparently there are no elevators at the other stops and that would make it difficult for EMT.

Great another reason i shouldn't work in NJ

Commuter Diva

Here she comes on the train with her shades on despite the lack of light with tons of wind in her hair while stomping through the car like its her personal runway lol

I'm wondering where she is going because this is the conductor car..so its a dead end.

As she whisks through the car she approaches the door and tries to open it. HA!! She looks foolish. What's worse is that she stands there looking at the door like "how dare you not open" LOL. Finally recognizing that its locked and she can't illegally walk through the cars....she sheepishly turns around looking for a seat. LOL

(Shhh hope she not reading over my shoulder LOL)

Saturday morning Commute

Oh the joys of commuting on Saturday. Its a beautiful day and I thought I'd get an early start today.

I walk to the bus stop and see there is a block party. I never understood why streets that have bus routes would be allowed to have block parties. Fine. But where do I catch the bus?!?

Finally get the bus and guess what...another blasted block party. Really?! Why isn't MTA made aware of these? Why aren't there signs posted for bus riders? Why? Why? Why?

Oh did I mention that the L isn't working either. So much for my relaxing day...I'm stressed and ready for a drink lol

Commuter germs

I'm about to board this train when this rude older man sneezes!!! No I don't mean an allergic sneeze. Nor do I mean a hand covered sneezes.

I mean an open-ended-no hand covering-i felt the remnants of your bodily fluids on my arm kinda sneeze.

I jumped so fast I almost landed n the tracks lol that's just disgusting cover your blasted mouth
