How it all began - the very first commuter tale

I awake in disbelief once again, "where has the evening gone?! It can't be time to get up yet!" But alas it is true its time to begin my morning commute.

Everything is done I walk out the door ready to tackle "Tough Tuesdays". The the train arrives and its crowded, "not today its too hot. I'll wait" Two minutes until the next train...no problem. The train comes and its empty. I get my corner seat turn on my Touch (yes I'm excited to have one lol) and I'm jamming to my old school playlist- a little Heavy D, Guy, Father MC, Queen Latifah, Black Sheep. I'm good. "Oh shoot 6th ave" I get up and begin the second leg, the most gruesome of the trip. Time to switch to some mellow sounds to get through this...Boyz II Men (first album) I fight up the stairs (3 flights) to the Path...jamming to hard apparently a little out of breath (I got the asthma you know). Swipe my card...still jamming it doesn't work but I didn't realize that until I rammed my bottom into that bar lol oops wrong card swipe again.

Just missed the journal square train shoot its hot on this platform.

It finally comes and of course I can't get a seat so I stand against the "do not lean on door" sign. Trying to fake a smile amidst my growing disdain for this daily commute. As the train crawls along to Pavonia I'm just chilling listening to Shawn sing: little things mean a lot appreciate what you got. Then I arrive at Pavonia (deep sigh) two trains down one more to go. So I wait on the platform for the WTC train meanwhile K'Jon is telling me that my ship has finally come (he sounds like Carl Thomas). Well apparently my train wasn't Three trains passed and none of them mine "this lady is way too close to me" I'm thinking a the platform gets crowded. Finally the WTC train comes crowded as I don't know what. I can barely fit but the 20 people behind think they are getting on as well. Oh boy time for my gangster lean, sopmeone has knocked my right earplug out, another butt is leaned against mine, a lady with masscara that looks like a landfill erupted on her face is looking at me like "can I hold on to you?", and the chick to the left wants to read the WSJ!! (What da dixie?!?)

The train takes forever to get to Exchange Place (just one stop away) and then all the people that squeezed on see some imaginary space and decide to turn around before the door opens (geniuses I tell you) as I push my way through the crowd. I make my way to the escalator for the 3 minute ride up to my final leg of the trip. I'm getting tired now and need something fast to keep me moving. Koffee Brown after the party (that song was HOT) I'm breezing through this 8 minute walk got the song on repeat about to really dig in and someone taps me on my shoulder! Its a coworker, its over now. I sadly take off my earphones realizing that the workday has finally begun.

Press 34 please :-(
